ⓘ CNTRL

Centriolin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CNTRL gene. It was previously known as CEP110.

This gene encodes a protein required for MT growing from the centrosome to function as an organizing center for microtubules. The gene product is also associated with the maturation of the centrosome. One version of the myeloproliferative disorder stem cells is the result of a reciprocal translocation between chromosomes 8 and 9, with the breakpoint associated with the receptor fibroblast growth factor 1 and centriolin.
