F-box/WD repeat-containing protein 5 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the FBXW5 gene.

This gene encodes a member of f-box family protein, members of which are characterized by approximately 40 amino acid sequence, f-field. F-box proteins are one of four subunits of ubiquitinilated protein complex called the SCF, SKP1-Callen-f-box, which function in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination. F-box proteins are divided into three classes: Fbws containing WD-40 domains, from the FBI, containing leucine-rich repeats, and Fbxs containing different protein-protein interaction modules or no recognizable motifs. The protein encoded by this gene contains WD-40 domains, in addition to the f-box motif, so it belongs to the Fbw class. Alternative spliced transcripts variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene, however, they turned out to be nonsense-mediated Messenger RNA candidates decay, therefore, not shown. The well set goal in FBXW5 include TSC2 and SEC23B.
